The 16th European Public Health Conference is over and we hope that you have enjoyed it as much as we did. The EPH Conference was attended by 2,450 delegates from over 85 countries worldwide. It has been a pleasure to organise the event for you and we look forward to welcoming you in Lisbon, Portugal, next year (see below). View pictures of the event here.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE / ACCREDITATION
The 16th EPH Conference has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) with 20 European CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. The Certificate will be sent to you by email within two weeks after the conference. Please check your spam folder if you have not received the certificate after 27 November.

PRIZE WINNERS 16th EPH CONFERENCE
Winners of the Best Abstract Prize are:

  • Raffaele Palladino, Public Health Policy Evaluation Unit, Imperial College School of Public Health, London, United Kingdom
    Abstract title: Out-of-pocket expenditure and mortality in the elderly in Europe: a longitudinal analysis, 2006-20
    Average score: 6.500
  • Marta Rado, Karolinska Institutet, Sweden
    Abstract title: Socioeconomic inequalities in smoking and drinking in adolescence: social network dynamics
    Average score: 6.500

Since 1997, EUPHA has installed a Ferenc Bojan lecture/award in memory of the EUPHA president who tragically died from a car accident in Hungary in February 1997. The five highest scoring abstracts from young professionals (under 35 years) are invited to present their abstract to a small committee. The committee combines abstract with presentation and the winner of the Ferenc Bojan award is awarded a waiver of registration fee for the next EPH Conference.

This year the Ference Boyan award went to Djoeke Besselink, Hanzehogeschool Groningen, Netherlands
Abstract title: Changes in health of older adults during the COVID-19 pandemic: a longitudinal cohort study

The Prize for the Best Poster is won by Aline Scohy, Sciensano, Belgium
Poster title: Women’s health report for Belgium: addressing the information gap

NEXT YEAR’S EUROPEAN PUBLIC HEALTH CONFERENCE 2024, LISBON, PORTUGAL
The 17th EPH Conference will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 12 – 15 November 2024. Note that from 2024 onwards the main EPH Conferences will be held from Wednesday to Friday. Pre-conferences will be held on Tuesday. Theme of the EPH conference 2024 is: Sailing the waves of European public health: exploring a sea of innovation. The conference will be held at the LCC, Lisbon.
