Description

The global rise of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the biggest health concerns today. This pre-conference session will give an overview of the actions being taken by the EU to address this issue and will present the results of some recent studies and activities supported by EU funding.  It will include activities from the Third EU Health programme (2014-2020), the EU Research programme and from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in areas such as: antibiotic stewardship; health care associated infections, causes of non-prudent use of antibiotics, economic impact of AMR, governance of AMR.
