Press and Media
The 19th European Public Health (EPH) Conference will take place in Bilbao, Spain, from 10–13 November 2026, bringing together nearly 2,800 public health professionals, including researchers, policymakers, practitioners and public health leaders from across Europe and beyond.
The scientific programme features more than 2,200 presentations across 176 sessions, covering topics such as climate resilience, health equity, infectious diseases, health systems, digital health, prevention and health policy.
The conference offers accredited media representatives access to leading experts and the latest public health research. Press accreditation is intended for journalists attending the conference for the primary purpose of producing independent editorial coverage of the event.
EPH Conference Press Credentials Policy
Press accreditation is intended for professional journalists and editorial media representatives attending the conference for the primary purpose of producing independent editorial coverage of the EPH Conference. Press accreditation is granted as a professional courtesy and is not intended as an alternative to delegate registration.
All applications are reviewed individually. The EPH Conference reserves the right to approve or decline press accreditation at its sole discretion. Previous accreditation does not guarantee approval for future conferences.
Access to the Conference
Accredited media representatives have access to:
- Plenary Sessions, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies
- Workshops and oral presentation sessions
- The exhibition area and E-Poster displays
Attendance at Lunch Symposia and Pre-conferences is only permitted with the prior approval of the respective session organiser(s).
Conduct of Accredited Media
Media representatives are expected to observe conference sessions for reporting purposes. Journalists wishing to interview presenters should arrange interviews outside the session and should not ask questions during presentations or discussion periods.
Media representatives may not attend annual meetings, Executive or Advisory Board meetings, committee meetings, working groups, or any other closed meetings or forums that require specific membership or invitation.
The EPH Conference reserves the right to revoke press accreditation if these conditions are not respected.
Who is eligible
Media credentials are granted solely at the discretion of the EPH Conference.
Applicants must demonstrate that they are attending the conference to produce independent editorial coverage for an established news organisation or recognised media outlet. Approval is not automatic and previous accreditation does not guarantee future approval.
Eligible applicants include:
- Staff journalists employed by recognised news organisations.
- Freelance journalists with a current assignment letter.
- Accredited photojournalists working on editorial assignment.
Applicants may be asked to provide:
- Press card;
- Assignment letter;
- Three recent bylined articles;
- Link to previous conference reporting;
- Audience reach/publication details.
Recording policy
Video or audio recordings of sessions are not permitted. Reporters or journalists wishing to record any proceedings, including presentations, events or interviews, must obtain permission from EPH Conference. Recording with personal audio/video equipment such as smartphones, digital cameras, audio recorders or other recording devices without proper credentials or permission is prohibited.
How to register
All media wishing to attend the EPH Conference must register with the Registration Office. EPH Conference reserves the right to grant press privileges to individuals on a case-by-case basis. Please limit media registration to no more than two individuals per outlet.
Registered media are required to wear press badges at all times during the meeting. A reporter’s credentials may be revoked for abuse of any access or privileges obtained.
