Conference highlights and insights

The 16th European Public Health Conference took place in Dublin, Ireland, from 8–11 November 2023, under the theme Our Food, Our Health, Our Earth : A Sustainable Future for Humanity. The conference welcomed 2.328 delegates from 82 countries, including pre-conference participants. Over four days, participants engaged with the latest developments in public health research, policy, education, and practice in a fully in-person setting that encouraged exchange, debate, and collaboration.

 

The programme featured 7 plenary sessions, 18 pre-conferences, 120 workshops, 56 oral sessions and 22 poster walks—a dynamic storytelling format introduced for the first time in Lisbon. Sessions were organised across 16 thematic tracks, reflecting key public health priorities and enabling delegates to follow topics of interest throughout the conference. With the support of partners, speakers, and exhibitors, the conference offered a rich and diverse programme showcasing innovation, evidence, and practical solutions from across Europe and beyond.
