Support to EPH Conference delegates

The EPH Conference Foundation, together with the European Public Health Association (EUPHA), offers several forms of support to delegates attending the European Public Health (EPH) Conferences.

Whether you are preparing an abstract, seeking financial assistance, or aiming for recognition of your work, a range of opportunities is available to support your participation.

Abstract Tutoring Programme

The Abstract Tutoring Programme, coordinated by EUPHAnxt, supports young and/or less experienced researchers in preparing their conference abstracts.

Participants receive one-time, anonymous feedback from experienced reviewers, helping them improve the structure and clarity of their abstracts before submission. The programme is particularly intended for researchers who have limited access to local mentorship or peer feedback.

Key features of the programme:

  • Independent from the abstract review and selection process
  • Tutors are members of the International Scientific Committee and EUPHA Sections
  • Feedback focuses on writing and format only
  • No advice is given on research methods, data analysis, results, or language correction

Application period: 1 February – 9 April each year
Instructions are published annually on the EPH Conference website.

Jouke van der Zee Fund

For many years, EUPHA and the EPH Conference Foundation have supported delegates from low- and middle-income countries. To strengthen and sustain this commitment, the Jouke van der Zee Fund was established in 2020.

The fund offers waivers of registration fees, enabling eligible delegates to attend and present their research at the annual EPH Conference.

Prof. Dr. Jouke van der Zee (1947–2025) was a founding member of EUPHA in 1992 and the initiator of the first EUPHA Conference in 1994, which later evolved into the European Public Health Conference. He played a key role in shaping both the EUPHA office and the conference during its formative years.

With the support of his institute, NIVEL (the Netherlands), his leadership and vision laid the groundwork for what the EPH Conference is today. The Jouke van der Zee Fund honours his legacy by promoting equitable access to this important European public health forum.

How to apply:
Application procedures and deadlines are announced annually on the EPH Conference website.
