Background
This half-day pre-conference builds on the first five years of the European Prevention Curriculum (EUPC), led by the European Union Drugs Agency, to move from training delivery to broader public health capacity building. Drawing on extensive experience with Training of Trainers (ToT) in drug use prevention, the session expands the application of EUPC principles to wider public health domains, including but not limited to including mental health, non-communicable diseases, and community-based prevention. Combining concise expert inputs with interactive learning and hands-on group work, participants will strengthen their understanding of core evidence-based prevention concepts and develop practical, adaptable training approaches for their own contexts.
For EPH delegates the pre-conference offers a unique opportunity to engage with a structured, evidence-based framework that can support a shared professional language and more consistent approaches to prevention across sectors and countries. The session emphasises usability, scalability, and real-world relevance, fostering innovation in workforce capacity building across Europe. Participants will leave with concrete tools, draft training concepts, and actionable insights to support the integration of evidence-based prevention into diverse public health systems.
