Chair of the 15th European Public Health Conference
Prof. Reinhard Busse, Dr. med. MPH, is the head of the Department Health care management in the Faculty of Economics and Management at Technische Universität Berlin, Germany. He is also Co-Director of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. His research focuses on methods and contents of comparative health system analysis and performance assessment, health services research (with emphasis on hospitals, human resources, financing and payment mechanisms), health economics and health technology assessment (HTA). He is editor-in-chief of Health Policy (since 2011) and director of the Federal Ministry of Research-funded Berlin Centre of Health Economics Research (since 2012). He was speaker of the board of the inter-university Berlin School of Public Health (2015-2018), President of the German Health Economics Association (2016/17) and member of the Government Commission for Modern and Needs-based Hospital Care (since 2022). His department is supporting the School of Public Health in Kumasi, Ghana, in setting up a master’s program in Health Systems’ Research and Management.
Local Support Committee
EPH Conference Foundation works together with a local partner in the host country. This is usually the national public health association but can also be the national institute for public health or a university. The local partner establishes a Local Support Committee (LSC) which consists of national stakeholders and leading experts in public health. The LSC has the task to gather support for the conference, to market and advertise the conference in the host country and to encourage national and regional participation and involvement.
