Objectives

By the end of this pre-conference, participants will be able to:

  • Understand key concepts and frameworks in health equity analysis, including distinctions between equity and inequality in health and healthcare.
  • Identify and interpret common approaches and indicators used to measure health inequalities and equity dimensions in health system performance assessment (HSPA).
  • Understand the methodological options for incorporating equity considerations into public health interventions and policy evaluation.
  • Understand how equity can be integrated into economic evaluation methods, including approaches such as Distributional Cost-Effectiveness Analysis (DCEA).
  • Critically reflect on equity-efficiency trade-offs in public health decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Explore practical applications of health equity analysis through real-world policy and public health examples.
