He has particular interest in research on equity in health care and impacts of reforming services on health system performance. He has worked in research and administrative positions in national research institutes in Finland and advised the government on issues related to health systems and policy development and research. He has formerly served as a president for the European Public Health Association and the Society for Social Medicine in Finland.

Local Support Committee

EPH Conference Foundation works together with a local partner in the host country. This is usually the national public health association but can also be the national institute for public health or a university. The local partner establishes a Local Support Committee (LSC) which consists of national stakeholders and leading experts in public health. The LSC has the task to gather support for the conference, to market and advertise the conference in the host country and to encourage national and regional participation and involvement.
