Silja Kosola

Silja Kosola, MD PhD isAssociate Professor of Adolescent Medicine in the Nordic countries and one of the founding members of the Finnish Association for Adolescent Medicine. Alongside her research, Dr Kosola has worked as a school physician for a decade and currently serves as Research Director at the Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County. After defending her PhD thesis, Dr Kosola spent a post-doctoral year in Melbourne, Australia, under the guidance of professors Susan Sawyer and George Patton. Besides 70 scientific publications, she is the co-editor of a textbook on student health and a popular book on children, adolescents and smart devices. Dr Kosola has been a member of the Steering Committee of the EUPHA Child and adolescent public health section since 2017. She has received several awards for her active participation in public discussions on child and adolescent health.
