Petronille Bogaert

Petronille is a Policy Officer at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE), working in Unit C3 on the State of Health. Her portfolio encompasses health workforce developments with a focus on digital skills. She oversees EU-funded training actions in the field. Petronille also follows up on the digital transformation of health systems and the impact of AI on the health workforces’ skills. She is also responsible for the State of Health in the EU which gathers the latest evidence on health and captures it in a series of concise reports. She contributes to the European Semester's health analyses as the country desk officer for Poland, Croatia, Lithuania and Hungary. Previously, she spent a decade at Sciensano, the national public health institute in Belgium, as a Head of Unit and Principal Investigator, focusing on EU health information systems and European digital health projects. She holds a double European Master of Public Health, a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, and a PhD on EU health information systems from Tilburg University, Netherlands.
