Kenneth Grech

Co-chair EU Expert Group Health Systems Performance Assessment, and Ministry of Health, Malta

Dr Kenneth Grech qualified as a medical doctor from the University of Malta in 1991 and received specialist training in Public Health Medicine. He read for a Master’s degree in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Malta and a PhD in health system performance and health policy development from Warwick University, United Kingdom. He is also a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health, United Kingdom. He occupied several senior management and policy positions in Malta and Europe, including that of Chief Executive Officer of St Luke’s Hospital and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Health in Malta. He served as Treasurer of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA) and is currently the Co-chair of the EU Expert Group on Health System Performance Assessment. He is working as a Consultant in Public health medicine with the Department of Health in Malta and was responsible for the COVID-19 Public Health Response Team in Malta. He has published in the fields of health services management and leadership, public health and policy, training and education.
