Jerome de Barros is policymaker at the European Commission (DG SANTE) with more than ten years of experience in Digital Health programmes and policies. He is developing the European Health Data Space (EHDS) legislation and IT infrastructures with a focus on data quality aspects, and secondary uses of data, including research and innovation. Prior to joining the Commission, he was Data Driven Innovation Lead for Health and Care at the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, working, among other projects, on the set up of the DataLoch, an infrastructure bringing together and leveraging health and social care data for the South-East Scotland region.
