Fidelia Cascini, MD, PhD, is Head of the Scientific Secretariat of the Presidency, National Institute of Health, Italy, and Professor at the Department of Life Sciences and Public Health, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Italy. She is Digital health advisor to the Ministry of Health and represents Italy to the Committee on the European Health Data Space, European Commission. She is chair of the Steering Board, Community of Practice of the European Health Data Space for the secondary use, European Commission. She was the Italian delegate for the negotiation of the EHDS Regulation proposal at the Working Party on Public Health, EU Council. She is currently also Co-Chair of the Clinical and Human Engagement Work Stream at the Global Digital Health Partnership, member of the working group on clinical research at the Ministry of Health, Italy, and member of the National Coordination Centre of Ethics Committees for clinical trials on medicinal products and medical devices, Italian Medicines Agency. She is the author of more than 70 scientific papers and four monographies on health data, digital health, risk management.
