Eva Zažímalová

Member of Group of Chief Scientific Advisors, Professor of Plant Anatomy and Physiology, Charles University, Czech Republic

Eva Zažímalová graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Charles University in Prague, majoring in chemistry and specializing in biochemistry. She specialised in plant biochemistry and plant molecular physiology, particularly molecular mechanisms of action of plant hormones. She was Director of the Institute of Experimental Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences between 2007 and 2012. In 2013 she was appointed Professor of plant anatomy and physiology at Charles University at Prague. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Chemistry and Technology, the Academy of Performing Arts, and the University of Veterinary Sciences (Prague and Brno, respectively) and member of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic since 2017. She was Elected President of the Czech Academy of Sciences for 2017-2021, and re-elected for 2021-2025. She is the author or co-author of original scientific works published in renowned international journals, chapters in professional monographs and editor of professional monographs. Her works have been cited more than 6,000 times, without self-citations.
