Bettina Menne

Bettina Menne is the Coordinator on Health and Development at WHO EURO. Her activities mainly focus on coordinating the health aspects of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Prior to that she coordinated the activities on climate change and green health services. Bettina Menne and her team have over the last eighteen years contributed to important policy processes, such as the series of European Environment and Health Ministerial Conferences and the WHO European regional framework for action on climate change and health. In earlier years she coordinated a number of scientific and technical developments: she was the lead author of the health chapter of the Nobel Peace Prize-winning IPCC Assessment Report. She has worked for WHO since 1997. She is a medical doctor and medical specialist in hygiene and public health. Before joining WHO, she worked for UNICEF, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the University of Perugia, Italy.
