EPH Conference Press Credentials Policy

Media credentials to cover the 16th EPH Conference will be granted to journalists who are employed by accredited news organisations attending the meeting for the purpose of editorial coverage.

Journalists who do not have press credentials such as freelancers should provide a letter of assignment in English from the publication or broadcast outlet on letterhead for which the journalist is covering the meeting or submit recent samples of their work with appropriate identification.

Access to the following sessions

Registered media representatives have access to:

  • Plenary sessions, Opening and Closing Ceremonies
  • Workshops and oral presentation sessions
  • Exhibition area and E-Posters. E-Posters will be displayed continuously during the conference.

Access to Lunch Symposiums and Pre-conferences is only allowed after permission is obtained from the session’s organiser(s).

Media representatives or journalists who have questions for presenters should arrange interviews with them rather than ask questions during the session. Media representatives or journalists are observers of and not participants in educational sessions such as skills building seminars and pre-conferences.

Media representatives are prohibited from attending annual meetings, executive or advisory board meetings, special committees, working groups and any special meetings/forums requiring specific membership.

Who is eligible

Representatives from publications and other news media must represent the editorial staff. Publishers of books and magazines and advertising and marketing representatives of publications and broadcast outlets will not be registered as press.

Companies or organizations producing publications, videos and/or other products intended for marketing, advertising, financial analysis or public relations purposes may not register as media. Financial analysts, public relations personnel and/or individuals from communications, print and online promotion services may register as regular attendees. Information regarding press registrants is proprietary. EPH Conference does not provide, rent or sell current or past media registration lists.

Writers for online media outlets may register as press provided that the website provides original, editorial news coverage; editorial content is independent of advertising and sponsorship; advertising on the website is clearly identifiable as such; and any sponsors of the website are clearly identified as such and are multiple in number, i.e., no single-sponsored websites. Personal websites will not qualify for media credentials.

Bloggers must provide the URL of the blog for which they are writing prior to registering for press credentials and supply examples of posts that demonstrate recent coverage of public health topics. EPH Conference reserves the right to grant bloggers press credentials on a case-by-case basis.
