The 9th webinar in our series ‘Sailing to Lisbon 2024’, titled Public Health in Action: From Methods to Decisions takes place Monday 7 October 2024, 15:00 - 16:00 CET.

This webinar promises to be an enlightening session, offering valuable insights into how the latest advancements in epidemiologic methods and data can both support and challenge decision-making in public health.

Public health is a dynamic field, constantly evolving in response to new challenges and opportunities. Decision-makers in public health are often faced with complex choices that must balance scientific evidence, practical constraints, and ethical considerations. In this webinar, our expert speakers will delve into the critical role of health data, modern epidemiologic methods, and robust evidence in shaping public health decisions that have real-world impacts.

We will start by an overview of potential data sources to exploit in epidemiological studies and assessments and will then delve into modern time series methods as a way to assess potential public health interventions and public policy. We will end this webinar with a reflection on how existing evidence might be used to support public health planning and decision and existing challenges.
