In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, health has emerged as a paramount concern in the realm of global security. The pandemic has unequivocally demonstrated that public health crises can transcend national boundaries, impacting the very fabric of global stability and economic vitality. This realization necessitates a profound reassessment of health systems worldwide, emphasizing the urgency to fortify them against future pandemics and crises.

At the same time, health systems are grappling with the increasing demands posed by an aging population. This issue is made more complex by the essential need for these systems to remain robust in crisis situations.

The pre-conference will feature a high-level panel including representatives from European Union institutions and the United States, followed by a discussion session with the audience.

We will explore the multifaceted approaches required to bolster health systems, ensuring they are not only crisis-resilient but also equipped to sustainably manage the growing healthcare needs of diverse populations. Moreover, it will highlight the critical levers that can facilitate strengthened cooperation and resilience, particularly between Europe and the United States.

The programme of the pre-conference will follow shortly.
